– Sheldon Creed qualified third for Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150. Crew chief Jeff Stankiewicz went off strategy and brought Creed in to pit under the second caution of the night on Lap 24 for four tires, fuel and a track bar adjustment to help the handling of the No. 2 Silverado.
– After staying out under the Stage One break, Creed gained the lead on Lap 50 and led the field to green to begin Stage Two. Creed continued to battle the balance of his Chevy throughout the race and fell back to finish Stage Two in the eighth position. Creed ultimately finished Friday night’s event in the 12th position.
– Creed led once for 16 laps. This is the ninth race of the 2019 season in which Creed has led laps.
“I’m just so thankful to my guys for not giving up all day. We tried so hard to get it better, and we had speed at times. We just never got our balance right. We’ve got one race left this season so we’ll go to Homestead and give it everything we got and hopefully we can get it done next week.”
