– Sheldon Creed qualified 14th for Saturday’s event. Creed patiently worked his way through the field in the first two stages. Creed asked for changes during pit stops to help a loose Chevy Silverado and consciously saved his equipment for the final stage. Creed solidly broke into the top 10 after the red flag was lifted on Lap 124.
– Creed battled up to second in the final stage and took the lead, but that was negated after he was penalized for jumping the restart and he was forced to serve a pass through penalty. This penalty put Creed one lap down, but he received the free pass when the caution flew again on Lap 163. In the closing laps Creed battled from 18th to 9th, ultimately finishing 11th after getting spun off Turn 4 coming to the checkered flag.
– Creed was the highest finishing rookie.
“Martinsville is a like playing bumper cars. I’m proud of my guys, we were loose all day and we worked on it and worked on it and got it really good at the end. Hate that it ended how it did, but it is what it is. I will say that you have to have the emotions and passions that Martinsville brings out in everyone. Looking forward to Phoenix in a few weeks.”
