His No. 21 Manpower Chevrolet had too much damage to complete the race, resulting in a 28th-place finish.

“I’m disappointed in myself trying to get in a hole that wasn’t there. It was four-wide coming off turn two and I just misjudged it, I guess. I can’t thank Manpower and Chevrolet enough for helping me get out here and try to prove myself. We had some fun today leading some laps and winning a stage, so it wasn’t all bad. I just wish we could have had a good finish. We’ll be back at Phoenix in two weeks and hopefully have a better result there.”
