– Carson Hocevar drove his Jordan Anderson Racing #3 GMPartsNow, Scott’s Chevrolet Silverado to a third-place finish in the third qualifying race. That placed him 13th on the grid for the race.
– Thursday’s Eldora Dirt Derby was Hocevar’s first career NASCAR start, debuting in the Gander Outdoors Truck Series. The 7th Annual Eldora Dirt Derby, featuring a unique event format, put on a show for the packed house in attendance and those watching on FS1.
– After biding his time, Hocevar wheeled his Chevrolet into the top ten, finishing a very strong eighth at the end of the first stage. Midway through stage two while racing inside the top ten, Carson would be collected in a multi truck crash in turn one. Extensive damage to the nose needed to be repaired at lap 63. Hocevar would continue to race hard, finishing 15th at the end of stage two.
– During the final stage, additional damage to the front end caused the radiator to fall and drag on the ground, forcing Carson to pit road where more damage repairs were done. Hocevar returned to the speedway 7-laps down, where he would continue to battle until the checkered flag flew.
“I’m so thrilled with our performance. Everyone at Jordan Anderson Racing put together such a fast race truck. Unfortunate that we got caught up in someone else’s mess, but I feel like we showed that we were there. Finishing in the top ten in the first stage was cool, and I think we could have very well been in the top five or ten at the end of the race if we had the track position and missed those wrecks. Glad we had a good outing though, and were able to represent all of our partners, GMPartsNow, Precision Fleet Image, LTi Printing and Scott’s.”
