– Mayer will be racing chassis 411 at The Glen, which is a new Chevrolet for the team.
– With his second win of the season last weekend at Iowa, Mayer is currently leading the driver championship point standings by six points. He also leads the rookie standings by 22 points.
– Crew chief Mardy Lindley has five K&N East starts at Watkins Glen with two top-five and four top-10 finishes.
– In addition to his K&N races, Mayer has also competed in six ARCA events this season with five top-five finishes.
“I’m really excited for Watkins Glen. It’s one of my favorite tracks we go to. We’ve got a fast Chevy Accessories Chevrolet and having the experience of a top-five finish last year gives me a shot at an even better finish, or hopefully a win. There will be a lot of good drivers who don’t usually run in the K&N Series so it will be more challenging, but it will be fun.
“I love road racing. It’s my entire background, so I’d really like to think I’m good at it. Hopefully we can go get in Victory Lane Friday.”
