Lemke Making a Difference in First Season at JRM

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 1X, 2019) – For a young man who will celebrate his 17th birthday later this week, Adam Lemke is certainly making his presence felt during his first season at JR Motorsports and as a member of the inaugural Drivers Edge Development program.

The California kid, who will turn 17 on Friday, made news recently with the adoption of 4-year-old twins as part of the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve quality of life for children and their families who are battling pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers.

Friends of Jaclyn was founded in 2004 when then-nine-year-old Jaclyn Murphy was diagnosed with a brain tumor. In the process of fighting her battle with the disease, she was befriended and adopted by a college lacrosse team as an honorary team member. Through her relentless spirit, strength and courage, she inspired the team to great heights. The team won its first NCAA national championship in 64 years, and a year later, the family created the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation with the motto, “Live in the Moment…Play in the Moment.” Her wish was to help every child find a team to show them love, support and friendship.

Easton and Elijah Evans are honorary pit crew members for Lemke’s JR Motorsports Late Model team for as long as the kids and family are in need of support.

In addition to the adoption, Lemke announced last week that Off-Axis Paint had signed on to sponsor the No. 98 JR Motorsports Chevrolet.

“I am really excited to become partners again with Off-Axis Paint,” Lemke said. “Everyone at Off-Axis does amazing work and they all produce great-looking helmets. Greg (Off-Axis principal Greg Stumpff) has done a great job to get Off-Axis where it’s at and he understands and knows how to make drivers look good.”

Stumpff, who operates from his shop in Mooresville, was equally enthused.
“We are excited to be partnered with Adam again this season,” he said. “It’s been a ton of fun watching this young talent early in his career.”

Lemke will be back in action this coming weekend at Dominion Raceway in Virginia as part of the CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour.
