– During a pit stop at the end of stage one, Creed had a broken jack bolt that forced the No. 2 team to make repairs in the garage. They returned to the race 14 laps down, but Creed persevered for a top-25 finish.
– With his third place qualifying effort at Texas Motor Speedway, Sheldon Creed has qualified in the top-10 in every race this season.
“Our race started off really good. I was happy with how the No. 2 Chevy was running, a little tight at the beginning and people were racing pretty hard around us. I feel like we had a shot at that first stage win, but we finished the stage in fourth which was good. Then a jack bolt screw sheared in half which was unfortunate and put us behind the wall. Overall it wasn’t what we wanted but we’re improving. We had a fast truck all night. It was fast on long run speeds and it never fell off so I’m happy with it. We’re improving as a team and I learned quite a bit tonight just with the air and how to drive. Really worked on my patience tonight and that was good. Not all bad, I think tonight might turn out to be a really good learning night for us and we just don’t know it.”
